Quick Apple Watch Series 5 Review

Quick Apple Watch Series 5 Review.Leaders often face the problem of keeping their lead without knowing how far ahead they are. This obstacle can be overcome by looking back at those who have come before them. Apple is entering the fifth year of the Apple Watch: While Apple is the clear leader in smartwatch technology, its lead and next steps remain ambiguous. The new Apple Watch Series 5 might be less of a sequel than the Apple Watch Series 4, but it is still a small bump. It adds the Always-On Screen feature in Samsung smartwatches (and other smartwatches) and a compass similar to Garmin devices. They aren’t as well executed as one would expect from Apple.

While I was excited to recommend the model last year to both new customers and upgraders, I was less impressed after trying Series 5. Let’s take a look at the basics before you make a purchase.

It’s an iPhone accessory

The Apple Watch is a timepiece as its name implies, but its main purpose is to track physical activity and display notifications from an iPhone. The Apple Watch can be customized with a limited number of watch faces. You can also navigate through apps using a small grid of icons. ECG measurement and heart rate monitoring have become Apple’s signature health features. You can also track everything, from steps taken to swimming strokes to different exercises.

The Series 5 hasn’t been fully ready for use even after several generations. While the wrist-based wearable wirelessly connects to your iPhone for most of its data needs, it can also be used as an audio player for short periods if you have AirPods or another Bluetooth headset.

Apple promises an 18-hour battery life and recommends that you use a wireless charger to charge your iPhone at night. After Apple discontinued its AirPower multi-charging system, third parties have created wireless chargers that are convenient and can be used in conjunction with other devices.

Series 5 ships with watchOS 6.0, which is the most advanced version of the OS. It adds an app store and tweaks to the Watch that allow it (and the two predecessors) to work briefly on its own. To fully utilize the Watch’s features, you will need an iPhone.
